A swish of an axe, a slash of a sword, a twang of a bow…That’s all it takes in this perilous land to fall dead to a greater creature. And like all warriors, Gunnar knew his time had come when he faced Skuultag. But Gunnar raised his steel, and the great battle raged. Gunnar slashed through the ranks of foes, intent on bringing them down to Hellgates with him, the fury of wrath boiling his blood and scorching his veins. And soon, the pair faced each other, each knowing neither of them would ever leave the battlefield with the breath of life to touch their lungs ever again, or the savage beat as footpaws padded across the ground, pounding out a fierce tattoo upon the earth. Gunnar raised his sword, and locked it with the fox’s, breath rattling out of their dry lips and weak lungs as they fought one last battle, and soon, both creatures lay dead, leaving the battlefield as one. But Gunnar’s warrior oaths…Did not rest soundly among the eternal lands of time…Rather, they spun. They spun, and they created a fire. A hungry fire. And it feeds off its ancient wood and stained steel…And grows. And soon, the steel spun as well, hardened and raised by its fire. But soon, the fire died, and war lay forgotten. But a single sword lay among its ashes. Its handle was ancient, its steel rusted, but there it lay, waiting for one mighty enough to take its handle and slash justice across the land of discord and violence…Once again.
